As long as it's efficient, not-so-bulky and powerful, I'm happy.
For not too complicated a build, rechargeable and not too expensive (but since not LED, not as efficient) the overvolted MR16 halogen setup
HERE on this very forum puts out about 700 lumens PER LAMP (setup pictured has 3 lamps for total around 2,000 lumens. Since these are training rides, a little extra weight should be OK.
