Anyone familiar with the quality of the Schwalbes, compared to, say Nokians or Suomis? I know Schwalbe is a good t[iy]re brand generally, but what about their stud/spike offerings?
I’ve owned Suomi Mount & Grounds, Schwalbe MW’s and Suomi W240’s. Bought the SMW's for my 29er but the tread blocks seemed a bit more shallow and never felt as secure on snow as the M&G’s. I replaced the SMW’s with Suomi W240’s and like them better for snow & icy ruts. The SMW might roll a little nicer on dry pavement but I prefer the Suomis. Quality wise they’re all fine tires.
