Those things are tiny. They barely cover your head (unless you have a small head). Very little padding, huge gaps.
If you're going to have a collision that will result in road rash, it won't be minor.
It's like going to a gunfight with a water pistol.
If you're going to wear a helmet, wear a real one. If you're not, then don't. Wear a cycling cap or something.
