I delivered the Oxnard Press Courier back in the sixties on a Murray (Sting Ray Copy). The tall handlebars were perfect for pitching papers! The local hospital would let us use the lobby for folding our papers at 4:00am and the money was good as I was raised in poverty. I mowed lawns to get the bike so I could get the paper route. Good times for sure, and it got me to love my bike and the possibilities of going places outside the walking range of my house.
