Yeah ... good question.
There is this rather wealthy guy here who built the Mona:
Mona ... a rather strange museum. He also bought up the land around, along the foreshore and in that particular spot, Wilkinson's Point, he installed a red window. There's not much else there ... a couple benches, a wall with a red window, and a wall with a clear window, and an area that looks like it used to be an old dock or something ... like a building was there, was knocked down, and most of the rubble was cleared away.
Evidently it is supposed to be some sort of facility for get-togethers or something ... but when we've been there, we've often been the only ones there. At most I think I've seen maybe half a dozen people walk around the area really quickly and leave. There's really nothing there to make people want to linger. For us, it makes an interesting backdrop for the bicycles ... and since there's no one around, we can take photos without people walking through.

The last time we were there, a lady wandered around a bit and then told us that he great-grandfather used to own the land, but it was sold off and she wanted to visit it to see what had been done with it. She didn't say what she thought of it.
