Yep. The adrenaline dump is identical. Honestly, I'm far more apprehensive before a max interval than I am before any race.
I don't know if apprehensive is the word I would use, but I definitely have more "do I really want to do this" feeling before a 20min hillclimb or something when I'm solo. I guess that's apprehension, but not in a fear way, in a "this is going to hurt" way.
