most pressing is the front derailleur needs replacing. i've read and heard that shimano is a bit more sturdy and less finicky to get dialed in and my bike takes a beating here in NYC. i also wanted to try shimano's offerings as a point of comparison to SRAM. finally, there's a bit of nostalgia as my dad always road shimano on his old school cannondale

fair question but, overall, i've really liked the bike and would rather spend my (limited) $ upgrading around the frame i have
