Deer Creek

All the creeks, Elk Creek, Turkey Creek, Deer Creek. Aka Deer Creek Canyon loop. Another wonderful ride I can hit from my doorstep.

This ride had extra meaning for me, as I crashed descending after tapping out on this loop about 2 years back. I was woefully underprepared then. I also rode a good chunk of this last fall but finally got the loop done today. Nice to reach the top but there were a lot of intermediate climbs/descents between the two “canyons” so it was a bit of a false hope. Next time gotta pay more attention to the elevation profile. As usual the descent was fast and fun, but a tad chilly this morning.

Flying Deer alert on the last ascent before letting it spin...

Plenty of snow in the higher elevations still

Posted this last year, but watch out for Pegasus!

Left home in the dark, got to see the sun rising across the hills as I ascended Highgrade

At the Highgrade turn, enough moisture lately to keep the fire danger low, thanks Smokey
