If it weren't for the fact I used to work near one I wouldn't be familiar either. The Hudson Valley is the boonies, there's not enough population density to support the cool stores like Apple, Costco, Trader Joes, Whole Paycheck, etc. And you'd use up all the savings in fuel trying to get to the closest one.
