I too am 5'9" and have a 30" inseam and am most happy on a 55-56 cm road frame, and a 19" mountain bike frame (depends on the bike, though). I've got a variety of road bikes, bits and complete kits if you are interested in a trade. I'd wager we could work something out. Did the brake boss come completely off of the stay or did the post come out of the squarish piece that is brazed to the stay?
