I have gotten hoods on bikes not touched since BITD, some of which still had functional hoods. It's unlikely, but not impossible, if you care that much. I don't.
Mike Frayasse (who used to own Paris Sport, and spent his life in cycling) might still be a source for originals...
I have had a few interactions with him, in years past, all of which were easy, and went well.
