Yes, I've been racing it for the last 2-yrs. Works great! There is seldom the occassion where I'm disadvantaged by running SS. For the most part, if the section is too steep to ride, I dismount and run. These are typically forced barrier dismounts anyway, so no loss there. Also, since 'cross racing conditions are typically crap (mud, snow, ice, etc.), not have a drivetrain to worry about makes things easier...I just keep pedaling while the others are frustrated with miss-shifts, no shifts, etc.
