Well, I'm continually being surprised by the status of the crops, so this seems completely reasonable to me. Besides, my photo is of a field NW of Princeville, perhaps 40 miles from your photo. Might be a factor??

Haven't seen any fields with the vines gone yet. I'll probably turn around and see them everywhere tomorrow!

edit: maybe the pumpkins that I saw aren't for eating... maybe for looking at?? They seemed much more colorful than the usual pie filling pumpkins.
