Was reading on the Kindle during my recent cross-PA tour when I heard some chattering in the trees. Turned on the headlamp and saw I had visitors.


The second photo shows what happens when you own a campground in bear country and don't take proper precautions. Shortly before I took this, a large black bear walked out from between the dumpsters and stared at me from no more than 20' away. Estimated to be some 350+ lbs. (That brown seen on the left is a pile of scat. There was another pile about 100' from my tent.) Fortunately, he could tell I was a badass and went about his business.
