Oh, one other thing about perpetual software updates. Good... but what happens when one needs a hardware upgrade?
In the case of this thread, 5G is just around the corner, but most of the phones don't support it, and it is unlikely to be fixed by some software patch.

Oh, and now most new phones have only marginally replaceable batteries.
