I extensively went through options to see if I could get a steerer mounted battery setup on my last build. There's some stuff readily available but I found that the way I would have to route the rest of the wiring to make everything work just made better sense for me with the frame I had to just go seatpost. Also had to do with stem options and the stock status of the steerer tube compression plugs that hold batteries.
