It seems to me that the real problem with using a presta valve tube in a rim drilled for schrader is that the tube tends to get cut at the base of the valve inside the rim as the air pressure pushes it into the larger hole. I've used Velox rim tape with a presta valve hole to prevent this problem with good success. Those Ben's nuts are pricey and are mainly cosmetic IMO.
