Heh ... work. We (faculty) technically have a four-week 'vacation' period in July/August, but other than that ... work, and even then ... work. My post is a combined teaching/administrative one, so there's always something.
The upside: outside of in-class lecture hours, useless meetings etc. there are no 'set' hours, so flex-time all the time. Lots of riding.
That, and as a result of the Age of Teh Interwebz I can do most of my summer stuff remotely, so in mid-June we get out of here (SW Ontario) and out to summer place on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. Makes a change. Mrs. Badger (retired R.N.) stays out until our Thanksgiving wkd; I fly back and forth two/three times (short commute flight), then stay put when term starts in September. We'll probably have to pull in our horns a little when I retire, but for now not a bad way to get through the year.
Edit: that's assuming we survive the next big correction. @
datlas is skeering me.
