Normally speaking, if you are sick, weak, genetically disadvantaged, handicapped mentally or physically....you would either be predated upon, or unable to find a mate to thus pass on your particular weakness or defect. I disagree with this view. If you are were/are sick did you go to your GP (general practitioner) for treatment? If you had cancer, would you refuse treatment? Treatment would be interfering with the body's natural function.
