The FX line is the workhorse in the stable of Trek Bikes. I have a 2009 7.5 fx in my rotation of 3 bikes. It's my commuter and I rolled 10,000 miles on it 3 weeks ago- getting close to 11,000 miles. I've made very few mods to it other than a specialized seat and stem, panniers and headlights. This bike is bulletproof and has held up really well- even the wheels which are of the paired spoke variety. I've had the cables replaced and the cassette but other than than, nothing else replaced. I'm looking forward to my next 10,000 miles on it
