For me, the saddle works best in a neutral position. I level the seat according to the cut-out. I place one of those cheap, plastic levelers from Harbor Freight in the cut-out and it works perfectly. Basically, using this technique levels the saddle before the up-sweep. Any positive rise in saddle led to soft parts discomfort. Any decline led to more weight on the wrists.
