I did it in 2017 and took the very short route and had no gravel I assumed it was something only found on the longer routes but it could be new, this section was on the short (10 mile) route and in looking at the map appears to be the only gravel part on any route. It was sunny and about 55 degrees, perfect for April. Great event.
