Just picked up a Shogun 600, with Shimano 105 Golden Arrow groupo. Serial # M4F43XXX. There's a "Japan" sticker at the base of the seat tube. I think it's an '84, from my guess? I'll post photos when I can.
It's definitely a 1984 model, as it was manufactured early in a year ending in 4 and Shimano produced 1st generation 105 (aka Golden Arrow) only for the 1983-1986 model years..
