Good question. I definitely did not mean the subway itself was an absolute pleasure and joy to be on, just that the convenience of it was amazing. I have been to places or work where I needed to get a rental car and one day alone is like 100+ bucks and I might put barely any miles on the car, but there just wasn't any other option. In NYC I can land at JFK, get on the airtrain, load up a metro card for about 25 bucks and get anywhere I need/want to for a few days.
