Or at most gas stations there is some toweling that people can use to wipe off a windshield or wipe off an oil dip stick. That works too.
I often will keep a few paper napkins from places we stop at to do a quick chain wipe also. I tend to prefer a rag as cloth can be used harder and doesnt rip, so handy for getting more stuff off and staying in one piece.
