I scored these Bontrager Classique shoes for $10 (+$14 shipping) and they even fit. They appear to have been worn once or twice at best. I looked them up and original price was $260...not too bad for $24 😁. I then stumbled on an eBay auction for NOS Shimano cleats, that will work perfectly with my Dura Ace pedals. They even have the little triangle cut out in front. The cleats were without hardware so I was able purchase another set of Shimano SPD cleats just for the screws and rectangular washers, a good purchase for another $8, IMO.

I love the look and feel of the shoes, and that the soles don’t flex every time I pedal. Shoes have always been the tough part of this ride for me. Last year I used some low end Shimano’s that worked ok, but the Velcro straps made pedal entry a bit fussy.
