Seems incredible that the remains stayed there for a few months. From the description it sounds like the body was between the bike path and the river. Looking on Google Maps, I only see a small patch of vegetation, maybe 50 x 100 feet, where it could stay unseen. Even then I'd imagine that it would stink up the place pretty badly.
I smell that smell at least once a week on my rides, but who wants to go fishing around in storm drains, swampy ditches and such while wearing plastic-soled shoes and shorts with a highly absorbent crotch-pad?
I prefer to assume it's road kill or a coyote who retired.
