Ah. Comes back to the "what do I know".

I was confusing max with threshold. Using the various online calculators I'm getting a Z2 topping out at around 150 if I put in a threshold heart rate of 165.

I could probably see that, but I guess I need to do another test, eh?
Training is testing and testing is training. You'll get a better feel as you start using the HR for what you can sustain and what your actual zones ar.
