Angle of attack is different if the pads are not adjustable in that plane. The rim might have bit of a V profile to accommodate brakes that pivot below.
But will it asplode? Seems the brake pads will wear to whatever surface they're offered. At any rate, it is still a rim, not yet a wheel. I will keep the group updated. If I live.
