When I bought my Trek 1000, I test rode the Specialized Allez Sport as well; I just didn't "feel" it. The Trek 1000 "felt" better to me. I liked the ride better. AND! The Specialized Allez Sport didn't come in the cool, flare duotone "orange" paint job.
