The best way to describe local weather conditions and road quality in one phrase would be "Hell With The Fires Out."
It rained all summer which is unusual. There were enough pot holes that dodging one ended you up in another.
There are cracks along with the potholes with the rain waehed them out to make it worse.

But I rode every day rain or shine for eight months.
