Yes, brakes definitely wear away the ano and mine are already starting to fail. Wet conditions, trying to clean the rim, etc. only make it worse. I believe the only way this can be avoided is to run ceramic rims.
It might not be 100% correct but if it's steel w/ celeste paint & classic decals & lugs it's an eco-pista/ best pista in my book. Piaggio or not.
Simply calling it a pista would do it a disservice by incorporating it with the modern uni-crown POS pista's


Ceramic rims are no better. Friction wrecks havoc on all rim coatings. Riding in wet conditions only accelerates wear of the coating as the brake dust & road grime essentially wet sands the brake surface every time you stop.
