One of the original 520 owners here. the ole gal's battery was starting to fail me so I was looking for a new unit. Looked at the Wahoos but the Garmins still offered a few features that I knew I really wanted.
I then vacillated between the 530 and the 830. Most of the reviewers I trust seemed confident that the 830 was priced too high relative to the 530.
Well Santa made the decision for me
and all I can say is that IMO those reviewers were wrong. The 830 is a solid, reliable bike computer and the added functionality of the touchscreen along with the heatmap-informed, on-the-fly routing (and re-routing) is easily worth the added cost.
I think you're gonna be very please with the upgrade
