As far as the segment, it is 1.3 mi around a lake. The first stretch is mostly flat, with a shallow climb. It then takes a left turn to a steeper climb, then a fast descent followed by a right turn. I definitely spun out on the downhill (134 cadence). Maybe could have pushed that a little more. Could probably have taken the first left a little faster too.

Oddly enough my best time on the segment was today riding fixed. Can't seem to beat it on my geared road bike (which should be easier!).

What was your minimum cadence?

Going from 45x16 to 45x15 would drop your max cadence by almost 10rpm for the same speed. Putting on a 17T would move you in the opposite direction from what you want.
