Doesn't matter. I wear what is comfortable for my ride. I don't care what others think is pretentious, in style, fashion, just get the right tools for the job.
I'm a clyde, and I wear lycra, so it's pretty obvious I agree with you. I ride for me, not others. I just try to match colors... but there have been times my wife will look at me and ask, "You're wearing THAT?"
