"The beefy serrated edges help you power over obstacles." The only reason I want one of those flimsy guards is due to the multiple times I've accidentally punctured my ankle with the chain ring on a bike where the guard had snapped off. Now I just always wear long socks to keep my right leg safe. But still, those beefy serrated edges are not as savage an enemy of my leg compared to the chainring teeth. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
