I have a total right hip replacement, the rod in my femur is 3/4 the length of the bone, also have a partial big toe joint replacement and two screws in my right foot. Only fly a couple of times a year but sprung for the TSA Known Traveler pre screening program.

I also always set off the detector and have to go through the body scanner and pat down. Last October after the scan the TSA agent said he had to pat down my left hip and leg. I told him I had an implants on the right, he said “it shows left”. Not sure if he was dyslexic or the machine was off.

Made me feel extra secure.
