Start searching LBS estore listings instead of eBay. Google any popular bicycle product by it's correct name and you will be presented with dozens of bike shops' listings, in USA and Europe (German shops are often a real bargain for buying all your Tubus/Ortlieb).

I've used Panaracer T-serve in 26x1.75" for several years, it is a good utilitarian tire. Kenda Kwest in 26x1.5" is an excellent value tire, usually half the price of T-serve, and I have put tens of thousands of miles on Kwests. There are often ignored by many bicyclists as "too cheap to be any good".
