I was much younger then, so my injuries were inconsequental, but the bike was wrecked beyond repair. I did go out and buy another bike. A new '74 Motobecane Grand Record (frame only). A retired French racer owned a bike shop near me & had the frame hanging on the wall. Bought it on the spot & slowly built it up w/ Campy Super Record Cmpnts. Road it for years until I purchased a Colnago, but still own, ride & maintain the Moto Grand Record...as it gives me good memories of years gone by...40+ years later. Recently upraded it to an 8-speed w/ a new rear derailluer & freewheel...
