Are leather saddles a fringe group? Nowadays I'd say, yes? "I" don't see many riders with a leather saddle. I think they are looked upon like LP's, roll-up windows, cassette tapes and Hai Karate aftershave. You know, "Oh yeah, my dad used to use those when he was a kid".

For folks that ride them, we love them! Anyone that bothers to take the dive and get a good Brooks and takes the effort and pain to break it in right is usually surprised how comfortable a hard leather hatchet, er, saddle can be to ride on.

I have five Brooks. One Pro, three B17's and a Cambium. I actually really like the Cambium. It's pretty darn comfortable for a plastic saddle. I have it on my fixed gear bike because it can survive the beats and dings and it looks retro-modern-steampunk cool. Young riders actually do eye that Cambium on my black Wabi...
