Yes! At least, that's what I was doing earlier. Calculated the resulting trail and everything. The magic with this is that you use a 26" fork, which is basically the same length as the Steamroller fork, but has a little more offset, and everything stays pretty reasonable.

I know what you mean, though. I bought my Pake last year with a fork that was waaaay taller than the original. I didn't die when I rode on it, but I did swap it for something appropriate.
