First cheerful highlight of Day 1, after about 4 miles of climbing, is of course the Bacon Lady, dispensing her grilled, salty meat product to all comers. This year there was no trivia-quention requirement, which raised some eyebrows but definitely made the bacon-dispensing line move a lot faster.
