Cool, what a way to get your baptism in NYC cycling! That would have been when I did my first and only 5-Boro ride. Too many people doing random things. I was living in Flushing again, I moved there after college because it was cheap and familiar. My apartment was near the Kissena velodrome which I frequented.

Today I drove to southern Brooklyn, near Coney Island where my son lives. I brought him the 1966 Sports that I had been using as my commuter/grocery getter. He didnt ride at all as a kid and hasn't been on a bike in maybe 6 years. 10 years ago I got him a BSA Sports that he liked and rodde a bit but in college he didn't want to use it so we sold it on CL. Now he's in a better area for casual riding, so here he is on our little shakedown ride:




If you look closely you can see the top of the old Parachute Drop ride on the Coney Island Boardwalk.
