I was pointed and laughed at by quite a lot of people last night.
Having test-ridden the BMX-like Trek Jet 20 that I had bought for my wife earlier once a couple of weeks ago, for some odd reason, I decided to take it on a longer ride. A grown man (albeit one who, at only 161cm/5'3" tall, is probably shorter than most teenagers) riding a rather colorful 20" kiddo bike is always going to look odd and/or funny, but I kind of enjoyed the attention. I dropped by the Trek dealer for some odds and ends, and even they were entertained by my attempt to ride the three kilometers over there.
Albeit excruciatingly slow - spinning the crank like crazy, going downhill with a slight tail wind, all I could manage was about 11km/h - both the ride and the bike were awesome. I would've been a little happier with longer crank arms and a bigger chain ring, though. The OEM saddle is too small, and the seat post woefully too short, so I used the saddle and extra-long, suspended seat post from my Verve instead. I've got an extra saddle lying around, so I'm planning to find an even longer post, probably even with quite some more setback.
