Get a disc fork and “mullet” the bike.
That requires a new front wheel, too. And if OP actually wants
better braking, it’ll have to be a hydraulic disc brake – which will require a new brifter. Starting to sound expensive. And a little bit dangerous, having a much more powerful brake in front than in the rear.
