Absolutely, I've dropped some weight from a recent high volume training block, while eating everything that wasn't bolted down.

I was referring to losing large amounts of weight in a short period of time. 8 years ago I dropped 100lbs in about 10months, losing that kind of weight and building strength at the time is extremely difficult and doesn't happen for most people. But once you're successful at keeping the weight off, then you can work on strength.

Over the last year, I've actually gotten leaner and stronger while my weight has stayed roughly the same. Up until this recent training block, I've stayed pretty steady at 185lbs, hanging out around 180 now. I completely agree with the high energy flux model, eat more, move more, fuel the effort and build strength at the same time.
