3.9.3 or whatever they have gone to in any upgrade is a
corporate version specific to our owner Internet Brands that is used on all of their sites with forums. They also own vBulletin Systems. This version has no bearing or connection to any other version of vB. 4 and 5 are different platforms, although this one employs some part of others possibly and innovates it's own features.
Some other non-IB sites still use platforms such as 3.85 which is also not this platform, it was developed years ago (like the mid 2000s).
