Did you buy it from a shop or mail order? Here in Northern California the only folks I knew in the mid-sixties with bikes of that quality bought them mail order. ("Cyclopedia" I think)

I was a junior class racer and a local shop, Bicycle Center (Bakersfield, CA) was a club sponsor. I really wanted a Paramount, or Bianchi, but the Legnano was available, so my parents got it for me. Lucky kid. I think it was $175 new with my old Schwinn Continental in trade. I see lots of old Paramounts around and Bianchis too, but hardly any Legnanos. Here's a picture from 1964, and one now. I have lost over 30 lbs since the 2nd picture. Same bike though.
