What you relate here is just so classic:
  1. Authority asserts that you are doing Wrong Thing.
  2. Authority learns that you were in fact not doing Wrong Thing.
  3. Authority lectures you about the wrongness of Wrong Thing you did not do, warning you not to do Wrong Thing in the future, or it will go hard with you.
