Forgot that your parents are there. I have led rides from Lambertville to Oldwick which dip into to Somerset (Black River) for just a few miles. One year during a ride in Hunterdon and Warren we saw a bear in Woodfern, which is a bit SW of Califon. If you know where to look there is still a decent amount of gravel in Hunterdon. Try The Hell of Hunterdon some time. I’ve heard it’s very hard. The county is also the birthplace of the real life figure who inspired the film “Jeremiah Johnson,” starring Robert Redford and Will Geer.
